Obviously this time we have designed the gearbox and rear suspension to from the outset. Last year we took the decision to that we were going to fit a double diffuser to the RB5 and not change the gearbox etc because we didn’t have the time or the resource to do that. This years car is an evolution of last years car, we have tried to look at what bits we can improve, but it has been a more a case of looking at the fuel tank and the diffuser. So it is here for this year gone for next year.” The diffuser obviously made a big difference last year and I think ultimately cost us the championship and now that regulation has been clarified we have seen some very aggressive interpretations of that rule now, indeed the teams pushed very hard to get it eliminated for 2011. “We have an aggressive development programme so there are going to be developments that we will introduce during the next couple of tests.

The RB6 was revealed to the press in the Jerez pit lane in February, it was immediately ovious to all that the design was an evolution of the RB5. We are quietly confident that we have kept our heads down through the winter and evolved the concept and that I think Adrian and his guys have come up with a very good car.” We totally respect the quality of the opponents we have in the other teams but we have set ourselves very aggressive targets. “2009 was a huge step forward for the team, I think the team matured a lot and you have to remember that Red Bull is still a relatively young team so the lessons that we learnt in 2009, the performance of the car and how that evolved, will be applied this year” states Christian Horner.
